Cluster Tutoring keeps finding new ways to have positive effects on learning. Whether it’s enrolling even more students in our second summer program, enhancing student math skills through tutor training, or seeing all of our seniors be accepted to college and career development programs, Cluster staff and volunteers always engage students in developing their own paths to success.
Here are just a few of the accomplishments described in Cluster’s Annual Report, put together by Cluster Development Director Cathy Lazuka:
- Cluster had an all-time-high tutor retention rate of 86 percent overall and 91 percent for Thursday tutors.
- Students had an 83 percent improvement in reading fluency and a 53 percent improvement in vocabulary over the course of the tutoring year.
- Cluster has new education partners: Concordia University’s Center for Literacy and Mathnasium in Oak Park. Both bring additional resources to Cluster students.
