Ever wonder what books are available in the Cluster Tutoring library, at least at First United? It’s easy to check out the book database, available on the Internet.
The entire list of nearly 1,500 books is online at Collectorz.com. Oak Park Girl Scout Lucy Martin cataloged all of the books as her Girl Scout Gold Award project. Thanks, Lucy!
The books are listed alphabetically by author. To access the list, click here. You can search for a specific title, author, or subject in the search field, too. The full url is http://cloud.collectorz.com/clustertutoringfirstunited/books and can be bookmarked on your own laptop or tablet if you and you student are looking for a particular book.
Let’s say you were looking for a Harry Potter book by J.K. Rowling. You could enter either “Harry Potter” or “J.K. Rowling” in the search field, and those books would pop up, showing you that three Harry Potter titles are available at Cluster. Some related titles also will be added to the search results.
Or you might be looking for a book about Abraham Lincoln. Enter “Lincoln” in the search field, and your search results will give you four titles about Lincoln, plus related material.
Maybe your student is in high school and thinking about college. Enter “college” in the search field, and you’ll see what books are in the Cluster library to help you in your search.
Thursday Cluster librarian Connie Henderson-Damon expanded and reorganized the library this summer, adding lots of new titles. Books are sorted into sections by grade level, subject matter, and topics, and books on the shelves are alphabetized by author or subject.
Sections include biography, chapter books, government, health, history, middle-school titles, reference books, science, and many, many more.
So check out what’s available so you and your student can keep reading!
