A Northwestern University graduate student has produced two videos about Cluster Tutoring that will air the week of July 14 on CAN TV, a local community cable channel. The videos feature an interview with Cluster Executive Director Kathryn McCabe and a video giving an overview of the program, which is featured below.
Julie Woon, who is graduating in June with a master’s degree in journalism, first learned about Cluster as a reporter on the education beat for Medill Reports, an online news site for students in Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. She wrote a story for the Chicago Sun-Times featuring Cluster tutor David Wilson and his student, Kaleb, and kept Cluster Tutoring in mind for a possible video piece.
Julie was assigned the education beat during the school’s second quarter but wanted to continue. “I really enjoyed the stories I was writing,” she said.
Julie created the two videos as part of a larger show that she did as a final project for a class called TV News Producing and Performing. The videos also are featured on Medill Reports. You can watch an entire education report, including the two tutoring videos, by clicking here.
