Want to learn some tips on cooking end-of-summer bounty and raise money for Cluster Tutoring at the same time? There are still a few spots left for a cooking class fundraiser on Sept. 25, run by Cluster’s own Cathy Lazuka and her catering company, Happy Belly Chefs.
Cathy will offer a full meal and cooking demonstration at the home of Cluster Board member Karen Heller. Guests will arrive at 6 p.m. to enjoy wine and two appetizers.
A cooking demonstration of three dishes will follow, with guests assisting the chefs. The menu is as follows:
- Mixed Greens with French Vinaigrette, Roquefort and Spiced Walnuts
- Pan Seared Organic Chicken Breasts with a Late Summer Fruit Salsa
- Creamy Corn Risotto with Blistered Tomatoes and Herb Oil
The class participants will enjoy the dinner buffet with wine or other beverage, with a dessert to follow.
The cost of the fundraiser is $125 per person, which covers the cost of the food. Cathy and her partner chef, Kelly Bailey, are donating their time; 100 percent of ticket sales go to help raise money for Cluster. The event is being organized by the Cluster Tutoring Events Committee.
Those interested in attending the fundraiser for the few open spots should contact Cluster Executive Director Kara Kalnitz ([email protected]), 773-378-5530
