Cluster Tutoring hosted a Zoom seminar for parents with an infectious disease expert Dr. David Hines to answer questions about COVID vaccines for children, and it’s available to watch.
Children 5-11 are now eligible to receive the lower-dose shots against COVID-19. They will still need two shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, but the shots will come in smaller doses and be administered with smaller needles.
Cluster’s Student Services Program Coordinator, Erin Agboola, originally hosted the seminar on Nov. 10. Parents who missed it and still want to hear what Dr. Hines had to say can watch it online.
Anyone wishing to watch the seminar can do so at this link. The link will ask for a passcode, which is 680^GLw.
The Chicago Public Schools canceled classes on Friday, Nov. 12, in hopes that parents take children to get a COVID shot. Most kids will get vaccinated in a pediatrician’s office or hospital, rather than at the mass vaccination sites used to deliver shots to adults. So far, some 1 million kids across the country have received their first COVID shot.
