This is a story about my Dad. My Dad is a barber. He has been cutting hair for 19 years. He got his barber’s license, when he was 13 years old. He has been cutting hair ever since. From time to time he travels to Texas to cut hair. He likes his job. My Dad learned how to cut hair from barber school and practice.
My Dad has a sister, my Aunt Daria. She’s nice. I like to visit her and play Minecraft with my cousin, Kari. He’s 17. My Dad and I live with my grandparents. I feel lucky to have a great family. One time my Mom took me on vacation to visit my grandparents in Phoenix, Arizona, at Christmas time. It never snows in Phoenix. It was really strange to have Christmas without snow.
My Dad liked to play basketball when he was young. He tore his Achilles tendon playing one time. That was all for basketball. My Dad likes to draw cityscapes in Chicago. He likes to cook. He usually makes dinner at home. My Dad likes to go to the mall. He likes to play Mario Kart with me.
My Dad likes to go fishing, and when he does, he takes me with him. One time he caught 19 fish in one hour! Another time my Dad took my cousin, Kari, and me fishing at Douglas Park Lake. For a long time, we didn’t get a bite. All of a sudden a big fish hit my line! My Dad was helping me land the fish, and he almost fell in the water. Kari was so scared, he almost fell in, too! We took the fish home, and my Aunt cooked it. That fish was good.
My Dad is the best dad in the world.
